An Interactive 3D model of the Edmontosaurus regalis Dentary

The dentary is from the collection of the Canadian Museum of Nature, CMN 2289, a paratype of Edmontosaurus regalis.  The specimen was recovered by Sternberg in 1916 from the Edmonton Formation along the Red Deer river, “seven miles west and north of Morrin”  (Lambe 1920, p. 2).

The dentary was laser scanned at 400 microns producing a final archival 3D model with 2.2 million individual points containing both color and geometry information.

This interactive web model is displaying 592,000 points.
